The YPI Crew Calendar: Events you Wouldn’t Want to Miss
January began with the fourth annual Run to the Beat funrun with pool party and BBQ, which supported some very important charities and the vital work they do around the world. Then came the first Caribbean CrewFest at the Marina in Christophe Harbour – an event that looks set to become a legendary fixture of every professional crewmember’s social calendar.
Next up was the Chairman’s Gala Monte Carlo Casino Night in Dania Beach, Florida, which celebrated the five-year anniversary of the Marine Industry Cares Foundation. But we’re far from done yet. There are plenty more exciting events for crewmembers on the horizon, and our yacht crew placement agency selected the top ones for you:
Unleash your inner Tiger at the eleventh annual USSA St Maarten Captains Briefing and Golf Outing on Monday, January 25th. The event at Mullet Bay Gold Course tees off at noon and will be followed by a dinner and the awards ceremony at Pineapple Pete Restaurant & Bar. There are also games of pick-up rugby, beach games and a party at Karakter Beach to celebrate Australia Day.
January 29th marks the opportunity to show off your skiing skills on the slopes of Baquiera Beret Resort for the third Crew Ski Weekend, which is hosted by Vilanova Grand Marina Barcelona. Open exclusively for professional yacht crew, prices include a two-night stay, two day passes, two meals, dinners, a raffle and the legendary grand party at Tiffany’s discotheque.
Hillcrest Golf and Country Club in Hollywood, Florida, is the course of choice for the renowned annual Yachty Nationals Invitational. Taking place on April 2nd, registration and check-in starts from 9-11am but arrive early to ensure you’re there for the highly contested putting contest at 10.30. After 18 holes, golfers can enjoy the buffet style dinner and awards. Oh, and there’s also free beer, if you’re into that sort of thing.
The ninth annual interactive Blue Wild Ocean Adventure and Marine Expo takes place from April 23rd until April 24th. Complete with seminars and demonstrations of everything from watersports to underwater photography as well as additional exhibits about adventure travel, and water toys, this is one you wouldn’t want to miss. As with any decent crew event there’s an after party from 7:30 – 11pm.
